Collection Report | Calvin Klein Spring 2011 Presentation

November 23, 2010

The aesthetic of Calvin Klein is one of an endless approach to style and class all in oneself. It’s one needn’t of any change or reinvention, as fashion enthusiasts were reminded of last week with Calvin Klein’s spring 2011 CK presentation. In a scene perfect for New York City, models nonchalantly lounged in a minimalist showroom on tableau of concrete benches over a sand-covered floor; the setting could not have been more appropriate for the collection, and brand itself, really. Groomed with slicked-back hair, muted and washed-out hues were the palette of choice for models who were adorned in trim, tailored jackets and trousers and calm, easy dressing.

Rightfully so, this time around men were given a little extra attention with the introduction of Calvin Klein X, a more slim, form-fitting take on sportswear and undergarments; and Calvin Klein Swimwear for Men. With typical emphasis on fabric technologies, it is exactly what you would expect from Klein and offers men more fashionable options for the bedroom and the poolside. In a wave of over-the-top antics in the fashion industry, it’s actually delightful to see the Calvin Klein label stay true to itself. Here’s to next season . . .
