Stooge of the Day: Iggy Pop

July 29, 2010

How do you get more rock-star stylish than a new T-shirt line that utilizes all (and we mean all) of the imagery from the Sony Music catalog? Invite Iggy Pop, naturally. Archive 1887 celebrated its special collection in partnership with Barneys New York and the first Stooge last night, and the man himself was in attendance. In a vest and white pants (no shirt, of course), Iggy signed a couple tees emblazoned with an import cover of 1973’s Raw Power — including one for Esquire, pictured below. Greig Bennett, creative director for 1887, told us that the legend was surprisingly friendly and a humble, involved collaborator: “He’s exactly who you think he is, it was a no-brainer to do this collection with him and Barneys — both have been incredible to work with since day one.”
