Antonio Azzuolo Collection

July 21, 2010

Antonio Azzuolo painted a picture of a rugged terrain with his Fall 2010 Collection during New York Fashion Week.  The showcase held at Jack Studio in Chelsea, presented menswear rugged enough for a horseback ride in Central Park, but urbane enough or a night out on the town.

The collection included basic suiting essentials – – jackets, pants, and suits, of course.  But adding a rugged edge the looks were accessorized with cowboy boots, Stetson hats, leather gloves and wool sweaters.

The first look of Azzuolo’s collection is a good sample of the entire line.  The sand-colored sport coat paired with slate blue slacks, bringing in the elements of earth and sky. Under the sport coat, a blazing orange sweater added a feeling of fall foliage. To finish the look the black cowboy hat, gloves and boots polishes off the urban cowboy ensemble.

Through out the collection Azzuolo’s patterns utilizes blues, blacks, and oranges paired with solids in beige, brown, and grey.  Classic two-button blazers and coats reminiscent by the classic long  cowboy’s duster, brought anticipation of wild-west showdown on the runway.  In addition to the classic dress pant Azzuolo accentuated his collection with mid-thigh shorts and above-the-knee Capri style pants worn with leggings, a continuing trend for Fall 2010.

Azzuolo’s careful attention to detail makes evident his training as a Ralph Lauren designer.  To finish the looks Azzuolo throws a curve ball with gold chain accessorizing the looks — almost  a throw-back to 90s hip-hop fashion.  Although the collection was basic in its patterns and fabrication the styling and accessorizing put a modern spin on the looks.  The entire colletction seemed to scream, “ I am a cowboy, but I have horses in Long Island and loft in Soho.  A true marriage of cowboy and city slicker.
